This exciting auction includes exclusive items such as an autographed photo from 2014 Olympic curling champ Brad Jacobs and a broom signed by most of the championship team, courtesy of RBC on Durham Street, Jays tickets and signed Russell Martin baseball and jersey, weekend getaways, spa products and services, sports and entertainment experiences, products and services for your home, food and dining, fun family experiences, clothing, jewellery, and so much more!
The other, and best reason to place your best bid, is that this auction will benefit organ transplant patients from Northern Ontario.
Transplant patients can incur tens of thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket expenses while waiting for an organ and during post-transplant care.
Living in close proximity to the transplant centre is often a requirement of being put on the waiting list for this life-saving surgery. This can mean patients have to take a leave of absence or possibly lose a job while trying to find affordable accommodations for themselves and their loved ones.
Children in this situation can look to Ronald McDonald House, but sadly, there is no Ronald McDonald house for adults. As a result, families without the money endure terrible hardships and stress…just ask Sudbury native Tina Giroux Proulx, and Sault residents Ronna Dawson and Lindsay Wonnacott, who all had to move to Toronto recently to await an organ. Here are more real stories of families who are impacted by organ donation.
Your support will renew the hope of Northern Ontario transplant patients. Thank you!
